About the Job
The software developer – web/ecommerce, will work as part of a team of internal and contract resources to help enhance and extend our new custom web platform. The developer will focus on new feature development, production support, testing, and software configuration management as part of this team with a goal of increasing throughput and ROI for the overall platform and enterprise. Developers should ideally have a comfort level with 24/7 transactional websites that include large product catalogs and also include multiple domains.

Essential Job Functions:
• Develop and maintain software in all layers of the of the application stack, i.e. presentation layer, services, business logic, and basic database analysis and design
• Integrate software systems with 3rd party services and line of business software
• Develop, execute, and maintain testing assets, including unit tests, mocks, and user acceptance tests, and scripting test harnesses (using solutions like Selenium and the like for web)
• Perform advanced software configuration management tasks, including source control check-ins, merges, branch management, build management, and software deployment
• Configure and manage the local software environment, including installing and updating development tools, configuring and maintaining virtual machines, and configuring integration and UAT environments
• Participate insoftware scope and requirements analysis, including software estimation, writing and reviewing user stories, and decomposing user stories into tasks
• Participate in architectural and design activities, including model-storming, software “spikes”, and researching and vetting new software technologies and techniques
• Shell scripting (using Power Shell)

Essential Technologies
• Front-end - CSS 3, jQuery, JSON, JavaScript, Twitter Bootstrap, 960gs,
• Application – ASP.NET MVC3.0, C#, LINQ to SQL, Unity Dependency Injector
• Back-end - SQL Server 2008 R2, IIS 7.5
• Architecture - OOD/ OOP practices, domain-driven development, SOLID principles, recognizing software smells, using design patterns
• Process/Software - Agile practices, Scrum, User stories, Sprint lifecycle, test-driven development, Visual Studio 2010, Microsoft ALM / Team Foundation Server, Selenium
