Description:Tundra Restaurant Supply, based in Boulder, Colorado, is a national leader in restaurant supply with divisions focusing on equipment, parts, accessories and restaurant design.

The Tundra Design Group has an opening for a talented and motivated Restaurant Designer / CAD Drafter with the opportunity for growth. This is an entry level professional position where the applicant will assist the principal designers in all phases of restaurant design where the focus is on commercial kitchen and bar design. Design and drafting support will include programming through schematic drawings and construction documents. This position will also provide coordination of special projects as requested. The candidate will work with our team located at our Boulder, CO office.

Position Summary:

Working under the direction of the principal designers to prepare comprehensive construction documents, the applicant will:

Draw architectural reference floor plans with critical dimensions, wall types, etc
Draw Equipment plans with reference numbers - using KCL and other software
Dimension utility rough-in plans and develop corresponding schedules
Draw construction and fabrication details
Draw seating plans, elevations, schedules and details for high end restaurants, kitchens, bars and front of house areas
Produce hand drawing "sketch" details for review and to present ideas to architects and owners
Coordinate drawings with consulting architects, engineers and fabricators
Develop details for the integration of equipment with architectural elements
Make site visits to field measure for custom equipment and furniture
Participate in OAC meetings

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture
1 to 3 years of related architecture and design experience (preferably in an architect's office)
AutoCAD proficient (Revit knowledge a plus)
Outstanding graphic presentation skills to develop high quality, accurate drawings
Strong attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication
Strong collaboration and team work skills
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Knowledge of restaurants - work experience or interest (commercial kitchen design experience a plus)
Ability to produce hand sketches and details to express ideas internally and to clients
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment while working on several projects simultaneously
Comfortable working, meeting with and presenting to owners, operators and developers
